Bring your stuff to sell or bring your desire to shop and join us for the day.

Proceeds from the spaces go to help us keep the doors to ALANO North open.

Our plan is to sell a “build-your-own” barbeque hotdogs.  Selling of food will start around noon.

The Alano North Inc. is a non-profit corporation that caters to the comforts and needs of the recovering Addict and Alcoholic. It is a place that you can go and be at ease in an environment that is recovery oriented, a place you can bring family and friends, a place that you can find the privacy to learn your stepwork with a sponsor, or a place to bring someone that is having a hard time with their outside surroundings. A place that is SAFE!

We also have a kitchen that serves off the grill hamburgers, bacon and eggs, biscuts and gravy and other food products. Look for our specials, dinners that are made with loving care and served regularly, by volunteers, on a weekly basis.

Our high performance Espresso machine provides our customers with specialty drinks and barista style coffees and we have a soda fountain as well for those hot summer days and nights.

We have Member and Guest prices and there are many perks when you become a member.

Membership costs are: $10.00 a month, $50.00 for 6 months, $100.00 for a year and there is a price break for our Veteran patronage.

Come in, sit down and relax for a while. Make yourself at home!

Elections were held at the Membership Meeting on November 12th and the results were as follows:

President – Marcos Vargas Jr.

Vice President – Robert Heyer

Secretary – Chris Weckner

Treasurer – Pam Wiese

Chairman – Mel Deaton

Well once again it is time for the old to be replaced by the new!

We have gone through a couple of Presidents and Vice Presidents on the Board of Directors for various reasons, and we have been looking  for a Secretary the past few months. We need a stable Chairman of the Board. We also are looking for a Treasurer.

The Membership Meeting is going to be held on Saturday, December 12th at 3:00PM

All members in good standing are invited to attend and vote! Any interested recovering parties are also welcome. As always there will be a Spaghetti Dinner served free to members of the Alano North.

CANDIDATES will be posted at the Alano North Inc for you to check out and make a decision about who to vote for. If you are a member in good standing and want a position on the Board of Directors, we are going to be having a nominating committee put that together for members. Talk to a member of the Board of Directors for more information.

It’s a Celebration!

Here to post about our 40th Anniversary. Did you know we celebrate our anniversary the same year that Man walked on the Moon for the first time? Both feats are amazing!

FREE BBQ, Music, Jump House for the Kids and also Face Painting!

We need side dishes so bring what you can. If you can’t bring a side dish, bring your appetite!

Great meeting…

We became clearer on what to do about a face lift for the club, the details such as plans being developed and fees that need to be paid to get everything off the ground. A lot of controversy, but following the BOD meeting there were half a dozen men that stayed around, brainstormed and cleared the air with each other, and that little 20 minute meeting in the office achieved better results than the other whole 2 and a half hours of the regular meeting. Who’d a thought?

We talked about the AC and how that was handled off line and what we learned about how we function as a Board of Directors, a lot of jumping chain of command and such. I got that everyone there learned a little something about research and development and how the whole of the BOD needs to be. Yes we still have some flaws working together, but by the end of the night, we all know why we do what we do. We all have the same context that is care for this Alano Club and helping the still suffering addict. That context is very evident and if we keep our focus there, the “taking things personally” will dwindle off the map. We have a strong BOD with opinions, ideas and a lot of wisdom.

We will work together!

Seems everyone had a great time at the camp out. I was out of touch for a while with my phone an computer down for a week. I was house-sitting during the camp-out so I was not able to make it but I was honored to have been asked to be responsible for someone else’s property. The club is doing fine and researching what it is going to take to make this a more attractive place. Lots of ideas and lots of members willing to make that happen. Volunteers are doing a fantabulous job at the counter the new Weekend Volunteer Toni is always service with a smile. She is the BOMB!

Hope you come down to the Dance Saturday the 27th. The dance is an old time Sock Hop and we will be playing all of the Oldies. Remember Sea of Love, Johnny B. Goode, Some ZZ Top, Rolling Stones and any other music that sends you back to the day?
